By Marcus Brian Sakubita.

Western Province Minister Kapelwa Mbangweta has announced that the Government has successfully procured enough maize to address food shortages in critically affected Districts in the region.

The white maize, currently being distributed in Mongu and Sesheke, will help alleviate the impact of droughts from the previous farming season.

Minister Mbangweta has reported that the Province currently has an excess of 8,500 metric tonnes of white maize and 10, 000 more metric tonnes are expected.

Residents of Western Province have expressed gratitude towards the Government for securing affordable staple food through FRA, ensuring access to cheap maize for the community.
