Western Province Minister Hon. Kapelwa Mbangweta (Mp) has called upon residents in the province to actively work with the Zambia Police in curbing crime.

In a speech read on his behalf at the 2025 Police open day by Western Province Deputy Permanent Secretary, Richard Mulwanda, the Minister says criminal elements such as “Junkies” in the Province will only be eliminated if the community continues to play an active role by reporting criminal activities.

 

And Western Province Commissioner of Police, David Chileshe says the Police in the Province remain committed to reduce crime through collaborations with the community and various partners.

This year’s Police open day has been held under the theme “Enhancing crime prevention through community partnerships for a secure and peaceful environment. Outstanding Officers have been recognised and awarded. Today Barotse mall is the hive of activities for the community and the Public.
