The Chairperson of the Zambia Correctional Service Commission (ZCSC), Mr. Evaristo Kalonga, accompanied by officials from Cabinet Office, the Public Pension Service Fund, and other stakeholders, paid a courtesy call on the Western Province Minister, Hon. Kapelwa Mbangweta, MP.

During the meeting, Mr. Kalonga highlighted that the Commission’s visit to the province is aimed at strengthening the operations of the Service.

This includes confirming officers who have been serving in acting positions, promoting deserving officers, and inspecting correctional facilities across the region.
He further reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to contributing to the province’s development, particularly in the areas of agriculture and infrastructure.

Minister Mbangweta has urged the Commission to expedite efforts to decongest correctional facilities in the province.

He also encouraged the Commission to enhance agricultural initiatives, such as rice production in Sikongo District and to prioritize the construction of dams and other developmental projects in the Province.
