Western Province Deputy Permanent Secretary Richard Mulwanda says the construction of the Kalabo–Sikongo–Angola border road remains a top government priority in the region. Mr. Mulwanda stated that the road, which will connect Zambia to Angola through Sikongo and support the establishment of One-Stop Border Post facilities at Situlu, is key to unlocking economic opportunities in the area.
He made the remarks while leading a team of engineers from the Road Development Agency, along with officials from the Ministry of Finance and the Presidential Delivery Unit, to inspect the land allocated for the construction of border facilities in the Situlu area.
The team was accompanied by traditional leaders from Limulunga and Libonda Palaces, as well as officials from the Sikongo District Administration.
The visit was also intended to understand and clarify any matters related to the boundaries of the land earmarked for border development at Situlu.
